Milwaukee Tower & Commons
Milwaukee, WI
This financial services company wanted to turn an unused 4,625 SF area into a space that their hard-working employees could go to take a break and relax for a bit. The client believed in creating both an engaging work environment for their employees, while also helping to support a dynamic downtown environment for the city of Milwaukee. elite|studio e was called upon to build a barista and juice bar and a full convenience store in the
designated area.
The large space allows full public access, so care had to be taken to ensure the fow was effcient enough to handle the amount of people that would be entering. The convenience store features a wide array of grocery store items
enabling employees to easily pick up needed supplies on their way home from the offce if they work late. The food offerings include a charcuterie station and made-to-order sandwiches. The client also committed to promoting local Milwaukee coffee brands at the coffee bar, as well as several local brands in the market.
One main request was the desire for the renovation to feel residential, so employees feel more at home in this space and less like they are still at the offce. Our designers carefully chose fnishes that are commonly used in the home, but are still durable enough to withstand the foodservice environment.
Since there were a lot of moving parts during the project, appropriate communication between all the parties involved was essential. Our team successfully coordinated with everyone to create an engaging space that caters to the various needs of the customers. The opening of the space was covered by several Milwaukee news sources, including Urban Milwaukee and The Milwaukee Journal Sentinel.
