National Institutes of Health Building 31

In 2018, elite|studio e was brought on to develop an updated dining experience at the National Institutes of Health Building 31. Having worked with the client and operator on several projects over the past 20 years, elite|studio e was engaged from the project conception and ultimately became the design/build partner.  

One of the primary objectives of this renovation was to transform the cafe into a marketplace feel. New counter fronts, paint, wall graphics and food guards certainly help achieve that goal. However, the updates to this café not only affected the aesthetics, but also the menu offering. To provide an increased menu, some equipment changes were made and the salad bar was expanded to incorporate more wells that could serve both hot and cold food.
